Interesting digital talk organized by the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO
The fifth generation mobile connectivity is destined to change the world by touching all the sectors of our life, from communication, to work, to production; but what will be the advantages and what are the risks associated with it? To analyze and understand the significance of this great change, defined by all stakeholders as a real revolution, the Digital Telematics Conference entitled “5G: The New Frontiers of Communication” was held at the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO.
A few days after the official launch on the national territory of the latest 5G technology, new communicative horizons open up to meet the needs of new use cases, such as the Internet of things (Internet-connected devices), transmission services and lines of vital communication as well as streaming services, especially video. The 5G will represent the era of devices (really) always connected, that no longer have to switch continuously from Wi-Fi to a mobile network, like digital TV.
At the opening, Prof. Maria Amata Garito (Rector of UNINETTUNO) launched the significant message: “The real problem at the moment is that politics does not govern technological evolution, not only at national level. We are in chaos. A parallel world without rules, in which the weakest culturally can suffer and precisely for this reason must be protected. One need only think of Zuckerberg’s latest idea on Libra, the new currency of the future that will revolutionize the world “.
China is the most connected country in the world and 5G is becoming a reality
China, being a nation devoted to the future and with a continuous growth for the realization of its “Chinese dream”, appears to be the most connected country in the world, where 5G begins to be a reality in cities such as Shanghai, Beijing or Chongqing.
And in a field like logistics, where China is king, intelligent vehicles conquer the scene. Thanks to 5G these discoveries will be able to travel roads without any help. Suffice it to say that when an innovative service linked to digital, e-commerce and logistics is launched in the West, it is likely that it was tested much earlier by one of the giants of Chinese tech.
Cainiao, Alibaba’s logistics arm, recently opened the largest automated warehouse in China in the eastern city of Wuxi, Jiangsu. This is part of the company’s first Future Park, a logistics complex managed by Internet of Things applications, big data, edge computing and artificial intelligence to increase efficiency in the shipping process. Powered by IoT connectivity, Cainiao uses 700 robots from the automated guide (AGV) to process orders. The intelligent system autonomously directs the AGVs to drive, load and unload the goods, while at the same time planning the best routes to distribute the packages and avoid the collision.
