The five-hour flight will be scheduled every Tuesday and Thursday
Big news for the low-cost airline company from Malaysia. In fact, AirAsia has announced that it will launch a direct flight between Shenyang, capital of the Liaoning province of northeastern China, and Bangkok by June 25th. The five-hour flight will be scheduled every Tuesday and Thursday on Airbus A330 aircraft.
Chinese tourists accounted for 27.6% of the total among visitors to Thailand
The reason for this new route is the importance of Chinese tourists. According to the Shenyang office of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, a total of 38 million foreign tourists visited Thailand last year, with Chinese arrivals accounting for 27.6% of the total.
“Shenyang is the economic, industrial and investment center in north-eastern China and the flight will be significant to expand our flight network,” said Shirley Zhou, regional sales manager for AirAsia.
