The memorandum of understanding between Chinese and Spanish companies provides a plan to help Spanish companies emerge in a global market
Correos, the Spanish national postal service, has signed a memorandum of understanding with AliExpress and Cainiao Network to support small and medium-sized Spanish companies and to make them grow in new global markets.
In particular, Correos will work with Alibaba’s Cainiao Smart Logistics Network to better facilitate shipments between China and Spain, while the AliExpress international retail market will support small and medium-sized Spanish companies that intend to sell to other markets in Europe and Latin America.
The partnership plans to grow Spanish companies globally.
In the memorandum of understanding, it is envisaged that Correos will work with Cainiao to find new logistics strategies in order to accelerate deliveries in Spain and find new ways to handle parcels in areas such as shipping classification, customs clearance, transportation and delivery of the last mile.
Correos said in a note: “AliExpress consumers will benefit from a better shopping experience, especially given the rapid delivery provided by Cainiao”
The partnership with Correos is the latest initiative between Alibaba and a Spanish company
To reach consumers in other parts of the continent, Spanish SMEs have been using AliExpress in recent years and, in this way, the new MOU would reinforce the awareness of AliExpress in Spain, and therefore, he said Correos: “will encourage the growing Spanish outbound deriving from the … platform “.
Correos also said that AliExpress could use its nearly 2,4000 offices to exhibit products sold on the platform, in addition to leveraging its distribution network to deliver packages to consumers, including more than 5,000 CityPaq lockers in Spain.
