China is working more and more intensely on Artificial Intelligence. According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), in fact, AI patents from China are 22% of the total worldwide.

Wang Xinzhe, a MIIT official, said that China has more than 2,000 artificial intelligence companies at the end of 2017. Wang also made his comments at the EXPO 2018 of the Global AI Products Application in Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province.

Here, around 150 companies and institutions of Artificial Intelligence from 10 different countries participated in an exhibition that, over three days, saw the presentation of over a thousand products related to AI.

The main IA companies are located in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region

Analyzing the work done in China on the topic of Artificial Intelligence, Wang explained how the main companies in the sector are mainly located in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, in the Yangtze River delta and in the Pearl River delta. Beijing and Shanghai, as well as the provinces of Guangdong, Jiangsu and Zhejiang have more than 100 companies of IA each.

The future, also thanks to this great commitment in relevant cities, seems to be excellent. In fact, it is estimated that by 2020 the Chinese Artificial Intelligence industry will reach 150 billion yuan ($ 23.6 billion), as confirmed by Wang himself.
