China intends to punish the producers and sellers of counterfeit products until they are forced to declare failure.
The times in which China was associated with counterfeit products have already ended for many years. Yet, in the huge Chinese continent there are still producers and sellers of counterfeit products or those that do not respect intellectual property.
To defeat this category of sellers and producers, which pollute the market, the Chinese government has decided to substantially increase the costs of breaking the law. Costs that would bring illegal activities to bankruptcy.
China will push for companies’ self-discipline and feed a social credit system
Zhang Mao, head of state administration for market regulation, at a press conference in the margins of the annual legislative session, said: “We will make producers and sellers of counterfeit products pay the price until failure“,
Zhang also said that these activities will be made known to the public and that “they have no place to hide under the sun”. At the same time, the country will push for companies’ self-discipline and feed a social credit system, he said. Through its efforts, the administration aims to gradually reduce the number of counterfeit products and alleviate people’s concerns, he said.
