To clarify the situation on the issue was Geng Shuang, spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry

Geng Shuang, a spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, has revealed that some American airlines had changed the Taiwan references on their websites.

The spokesman, in this regard, said that in order to avoid such situations, the government should require foreign companies to respect the sovereign and territorial integrity of China when they operate in the country.

The Chinese Civil Aviation Authority, for its part, sent a formal notice to 44 foreign airlines in April, asking them to change websites to list Taiwan as part of China.

Geng: “We also protect their legitimate rights and interests”

“China is willing to share its development opportunities with foreign companies, and welcome them to invest in China,” Geng said.

But Geng even urged foreign companies to “respect Chinese laws and regulations, sovereign and territorial integrity, and the Chinese people’s feelings”.

We will also protect their legitimate rights and interests in accordance with the law and provide a fair environment for their operations,” he said.
