Is the prototype of a high-speed magnetic levitation train that will be able to bring China at the forefront also in the production of Maglev systems
Traveling in China will always be easier and faster. In fact, a new prototype of a magnetic levitation train with a maximum designed speed of 600 km per hour has recently been presented in the eastern city of Qingdao.
In particular, this prototype marks an important step for China because the Chinese magnetic levitation train marks an important step forward for the country in the high-speed maglev transport system.
Ding Sansan, head of the train research and development team and deputy chief engineer of CRRC Qingdao Sifang Co., the train manufacturer, explained the reasons for the importance of this train. In particular, the test prototype can control and optimize the key technologies and components of the central system of the high-speed Maglev system and lay the technological basis for the next engineering prototype, he said
“Now the prototype has reached static levitation and is in good condition,” said Ding.
In addition, the train manufacturer is currently building an experimental center and a test production center for high-speed magnetic levitation trains and plans to operate them in the second half of the year, he said.
Research and development of a five-car engineering prototype are also proceeding smoothly. Speaking of timing, the engineering prototype is expected to complete the production line in 2020 and will be subjected to comprehensive tests to complete the integrated audit in 2021.
