A new air route in the Chinese sky. In fact, China Southern Airlines launched a direct flight between Nairobi and Changsha, the capital of the Chinese province of Hunan. “We now have four non-stop weekly flights between China and Kenya. The new flights will be scheduled on Wednesday and Sunday
According to the new program, the airline will fly from Nairobi to Changsha on Wednesday and Sunday, while non-stop flights between Nairobi and Guangzhou will be scheduled on Mondays and Fridays.
Nashipai noted that Changsha is an industrial city with several factories producing goods that have high demand in Kenya. “So we expect the flight to be very successful,” he added, revealing that China Southern Airlines intends to start flying in other cities in eastern and western Africa.

In addition, the Chinese airline also has a code-sharing agreement with Kenya Airways. In this way, seamless connectivity is possible for passengers to other destinations in Africa.
Abel Gogo, head of the airport at the Kenya Airport Authority, said that the direct flight between Nairobi and Changsha will open up new opportunities for cooperation between China and Kenya. “China Southern Airlines’ additional flight will also improve Nairobi as a regional aviation and commercial hub,” Gogo said.
