5G hotspot coverage will be made available in 33 cities while the private network will be implemented
China Unicom will put in place an uninterrupted coverage of the 5G network in the main cities of China, according to the network distribution plan published in recent days. The 5G network will cover Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Nanjing, Hangzhou and the new urban area of Xiongan.
Meanwhile, the 5G hotspot coverage will be made available in 33 cities and the company will also implement the 5G private network, while creating 5G application scenarios in every area of life in different cities. All this will aim to feed the incubation of 5G applications and update the sector.

China Unicom is strongly promoting the innovative integration of 5G technology and applications, providing network support for 5G development. This was confirmed by the president of China Unicom, Wang Xiaochu.
China Unicom and the Shanghai government, moreover, have signed an agreement to improve the city’s fiber optic broadband networks and the high-speed mobile communication network level.
According to the agreement, the company will invest 15 billion yuan (about $ 2.24 billion) in Shanghai by 2021 to transform the city into a “double Gigabit broadband city”; or both on the mobile communication network and on the fixed broadband network.
