Dada, JD, and Walmart will work together to explore the trend of unbounded retail
Dada-JD said that it has covered more than 400 major cities across the country, serving more than 1.2 million businesses and over 50 million individual users, with a daily order of more than millions.
Dada and JD announced their merge in April 2016. Dada provides immediate distribution services for JD and also provides distribution services for a large number of partners such as JD Mall, 7Fresh, Kungfu, and Country Foundation, etc.
In addition, JD has also covered nearly 40 major cities including Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, with more than 50 million registered users and over 20 million monthly active users. The daily peak orders exceeded 1 million. Jingdong Daojia (to home) provide consumers with a one-hour delivery experience of fresh fruits and vegetables, daily necessities, medical health, flower, cakes, and beauty care products.
Jingdong Daojia and Walmart have reached a strategic cooperation since October 2016. At present, about 200 Walmart stores are online to JD Daojia, covering 30 key cities across the country, providing customers with one-hour delivery service. In addition to Walmart, JD has also reached a cooperation with a number of large chain stores.
JD said that in the future, they will also actively work on multi-format developments. Convenience stores, fresh fruits and vegetables, gourmet baking, flower cakes, medical health and more consumer needs are all available on the platform.
Taking convenience stores as an example, the three major Japanese convenience store giants have all settled in, and JD has reached deep cooperation with more than 50 national chain and regional chain brands such as Ourhours, Liangyou, Today, WuDongfeng, Meiyijia and Yuki, etc.
In the first half of 2018, JD’s convenience store business grew by nearly 100%. In the medical and health business, JD has reached strategic cooperations with the top 10 pharmacies.
