FOCAC, the union between China and Africa is strengthened in Beijing

FOCAC has drawn up a “Beijing Declaration” that will be implemented in two phases for a more prosperous future

 

A summit that has led to important decisions. This was the meeting that took place in Beijing, at the Great Hall of the People, in the China-Africa Cooperation Forum (FOCAC) 2018.

The result of the talks between the parties, led to a “Beijing Declaration“, which will see an even stronger union between China and Africa. In this sense, a FOCAC action plan (2019-2021) was also drawn up, to be implemented in two phases as decided by the round table, chaired respectively by the Chinese President Xi Jinping and the President of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa.

Xi confirmed that the leaders unanimously decided to build a China-Africa community with a shared future, take responsibility, pursue a win-win cooperation, enjoy cultural prosperity, guarantee common security and promote harmony between men and nature.

China, as confirmed by President Xi, has agreed to develop FOCAC as a mark of solidarity and cooperation between China and Africa, guiding such international cooperation in compliance with the principle of consultation, cooperation and benefits for all.

 

African leaders in Beijing spoke enthusiastically about the summit

 

“The vigorous development of China-Africa cooperation has not only promoted the progress of the African continent, but has also inspired international partners to pay more attention to Africa and increase their contribution and cooperation with the continent,” Xi said

African leaders in Beijing spoke enthusiastically about the summit and agreed that it was a historic meeting to strengthen Africa-China solidarity and cooperation.

Moreover, from Africa, appreciation for the Belt and Road initiative has arrived. Furthermore, the joint construction of this project between China and Africa would be considered as an accelerator for integration.
