Huawei becomes a POS system


The application from the Chinese technological giant arrives thanks to a collaboration with China UnionPay

Soon, merchants who own a Huawei will be able to accept payments, such as UnionPay Quickpass and QR code transactions, directly through their smartphones. This innovation comes from the new app developed by Huawei and China UnionPay, the largest bank card provider in the country.
Launched with the support of the country’s public security ministry, the system uses an electronic identity system to provide online and offline authentication through fingerprint scanning

The app can also be used to check-in at hotels

This new application that will arrive soon on Huawei phones is the result of a long study on the behavior and habits of sellers and buyers. China UnionPay Assistant President Qi Yuemin said that UnionPay has carried out in-depth research to develop a series of solutions for everyday consumer problems.
The use of smartphones as POS devices can help banks to expand their business to more small-sized firms, as well as to rural and international markets, MPayPass pointed out.
