Chow has already served as the regional executive vice president of Lazada Malaysia
Lazada Malaysia – branch of Lazada, the Alibaba e-commerce platform present and operating in Southeast Asia – announced the appointment of Leo Chow as CEO of the company. Chow happens to Christophe Lejeune, as reported by Digital News Asia.
Chow, who has previously served as regional executive vice president of Lazada Malaysia, will now manage Lazada’s growth and strategic developments in Malaysia. Regarding the position of Lejeune, this will remain in Lazada, however, it is not clear in what role; local media reports it.
Chow has played several roles in Lazada, dealing with various international issues
Chow brings with him a rich experience after his work in Taobao, having taken on a variety of roles, including managing categories and running cross-border social business models.
Since joining Lazada Malaysia, his roles have included managing traffic policies on marketing platforms, as well as implementing various regional assortments and strategies.
Lazada seems to be in a moment of transition, given the many changes in management
Lazada, who has recently seen some important changes in staff, seems to be in a transition phase.
Last year the company slowed down as regional CEO Max Bittner was replaced by Alibaba’s Lucy Peng. Just nine months later, Executive Chairman Pierre Poignant has Peng as CEO of Lazada, who has remained in the loop as Executive Chairman
