The OnePlus smart TV will probably come in variable sizes and will be launched in September in China, India and the United States
The statements released by OnePlus to Pandaily let it be known that the Chinese smartphone manufacturer’s smart TV will probably come in variable sizes and will be launched in September in China, India and the United States. The goal is to challenge competitors like Honor, who launched an intelligent display just last week, and Xiaomi, which has produced smart TVs since last year.
Pete Lau, CEO of OnePlus, on OnePlus online forums last year, said: “We believe your TV has the potential to be much more than where you watch your favorite shows. We want to bring the home environment to the next level of intelligent connectivity”. Lau explained that the decision to enter the smart television industry is “the first step in building a connected human experience“.
OnePlus TVs have been described as a unique Android TV
OnePlus has never ventured to make more complex and large devices like televisions. So first of all, the televisions were presented to consumers during a presentation at the Bluetooth SIG. The list describes the televisions as a “unique Android TV“, which will feature LED display technology and available in variable sizes ranging from 43 to 75 inches.
According to MySmartPrice, which has identified the list for the first time, OnePlus will launch TVs at the end of September. Apart from the expected markets and the size of the display panels, the list does not provide further information on the television specifications.
