Hundreds of supermarkets and retail stores join Tmall’s Double 11
On October 18th, Tmall announced that nearly 600 new retail resale stores and supermarkets across the country will join the Tmall Double 11, including nearly 100 Hema stores, and more than 470 chain stores that have been transformed through HiShop, covering 165 cities and over 50 million users. The offline enthusiasm is expected to be ignited ahead of schedule on November 1.
It is reported that in September this year, Hema entered the peak of the store opening, the number of stores jumped from more than 60 to more than 80, distributed in 16 cities. It is estimated that before Double 11, the number of stores will reach 95, and all of which will join the Tmall Double 11 “luxury package”. This is the first time that Hema and HiShop have participated in the Double 11.
Wang Tingxiang, general manager of HiShop, said that in the past year, HiShop has continuously exported Hema model to the industry, including 13 chain brands including RT-Mart, Auchan, Sanjiang Shopping, Wangzhongwang, and Xingli.
500 stores will complete the new retail renovation in Double 11, covering 50 million consumers in 165 cities across the country to participate in the Tmall Double 11.
These new retail supermarkets will continue Double 11’s classic “50% off” for limited quality products. Some stores offline will become “Double 11 Theme Stores” and will join Alibaba ecology by having “Credits” and is deeply integrated with the entire ecosystem. Shopping and sharing at Hema, RT-Mart, Auchan, Xinhuadu and Sanjiang supermarkets, can accumulate credits for Tmall double 11 red envelopes.
According to the list of “China’s Top 100 Fast-moving Consumer Goods Chain” released by China Chain Store & Franchise Association, RT-Mart, Auchan, Xinhuadu and Meite are all in the top of the Top30 list. The new retail exploration of these 500 supermarkets will be 5-10 years in the future, laying down the foundation for supermarkets upgrades.
