Tianjin, the Chinese eco-city for a 5G total coverage network

A union for the diffusion of 5G. The China-Singapore Tianjin Eco-city program is coming, a cooperation program between the two countries that aims to fully cover of the 5G network by the end of this year. The city management office confirmed this in a note.

The eco-city – located in northern China, in the municipality of Tianjin – has signed a cooperation agreement with the Chinese telecommunications giant China Mobile to jointly build a 5G-based data platform, the Internet of Things and related infrastructures.


Tianjin was designed to be a green development demonstration area


As part of the agreement, which aims to spread the new technology, the China Mobile branch in Tianjin will increase 5G stations in the city, including the construction of macro and micro base stations. The two sides will improve the application of 5G technology in more areas such as autonomous driving, drones, public transport service, GPS service, energy and medical services.

Located in the new area of ​​Tianjin Binhai, the eco-city was designed to be a green development demonstration area.
